Cashmere is the fine, warm undercoat of mountain goats that live at high altitudes in Mongolia, China or Iran. The yield of raw cashmere is up to 500g per animal/year . The fineness, color and length of cashmere differs according to provenance.

Only cashmere with an average fineness between 14.5-18.5 microns and a good length is used for the production of these cashmere blankets. The finer, longer and lighter the hair, the more valuable the material.
