Bassetti Granfoulard – the large, versatile cloth whose uses are as varied as its history. Use it as a tablecloth, curtain, room divider, beach towel, bedspread, sofa cover...
FLORENCE - The journey through the wonders of Italy leads to the region of ancient Etruria, a historically rich area nestled between Tuscany, Lazio, and Umbria, where Etruscan civilization and art originated and flourished. Etruscan goldsmithing is widespread in these regions, providing creative inspiration for the creation of a new granfoulard design. Elegant Etruscan jewelry has always been a testament to refined goldsmithing, employing sophisticated techniques, such as those used in granulation brooches and medallions. This particular technique involved applying tiny gold beads to the jewelry to create circular ornaments. The forms of the floral motifs, interpreted through the design, are surrounded by delicate stamped motifs, creating an elegant and ethereal composition. The simplicity of the flounce is enhanced by a textile effect reminiscent of gold embroidery. There are two color variations: the first with a beige background and gold and cardinal red motifs, and the second with a turquoise background and gold and terracotta motifs.
Granfoulard is probably the world's best-known product with which Bassetti established itself in the market. As simple as Italian life itself, the uses of this "large scarf" are equally simple and versatile.
Today you have it as a tablecloth on the garden or dining table, and tomorrow it can be knotted together as a room divider or used as a decorative cover on the sofa .
Whether attached to a curtain rod as a scarf, it serves its purpose just as well as a sunshade , beach towel , or simply on a sun lounger . As you can see, there are no limits to your imagination.
Create your own next use for your Granfoulard.
